Custom Software Design in Delphi

Welcome!

Cornelius Concepts was founded in 1990 by David Cornelius to build custom software solutions for small businesses and non-profit organizations. He works individually with each customer to understand their business needs and solve whatever problems they perceive. His long career as a programmer in a wide variety of environments gives him the breadth of experience to design software from the ground up, integrate data from various sources, or upgrade an older system to work with new technologies. David's expertise is in building user-friendly applications that get used a lot in high-productivity work environments. Convenient access to frequent tasks and automating data flow where possible are key components to utilizing the full potential of the computer. If there's too much data on the screen, tricks are utilized to abbreviate or categorize it into usable groups. Colors, pop-out panels, hot-keys, and data validation reduce confusion. Designing the screen to resemble processes the client is already familiar with goes a long way in increasing ramp-up time for new systems.

Most of his work is with Delphi, the Object Pascal language from Embarcadero Technologies. He has used all versions of Delphi and even used Turbo Pascal and Turbo C/C++ back in the days when MS-DOS was the prevalent operating system. He has also worked in Visual Studio having programmed in Visual BASIC 6, VB.NET, and C#. All new applications are being developed either in the new Unicode versions of Delphi or in .NET using Delphi Prism. To read more about David's Experience, click here.

His proficiency in database management includes both proprietary and open source products including Firebird, ElevateDB, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. He's comfortable building either local embedded databases or multi-user ones with replication and remote access.

David Cornelius has been helping people with their computers since 1985 with consulting, programming, training, and technical support. He has been an active member of community organizations, serving as coordinator of the Oregon Delphi User Group for 10 years and a member in various capacities of the Oregon Computer Consultants Association for 15 years. He has given numerous technical presentations and constantly stays involved with many areas of software development, and internet technologies.
